Press and hold [ FM ] and [ DX ] keys simultaneously until the display shows '1000'
Press preset [ 1 ] repeatedly for the first digit followed by pressing and holding[ FM and DX ]
Press preset [ 2 ] repeatedly for the second digit followed by pressing and holding[ FM and DX ]
Press preset [ 3 ] repeatedly for the third digit followed by pressing and holding[ FM and DX ]
Press preset [ 4 ] repeatedly for the fourth digit followed by pressing and holding[ FM and DX ]
'SAFE' will display followed by operation of the radio.
