do not take the serial from a user guideNever take the serial number from any printed paperwork or user guides, since this may not match the actual Ford radio fitted to the car.  Instead, take the serial number from either a label or an engraving on the top or side of your Ford stereo, to ensure the supplied Ford radio code is accurate.

Note: The Ford 4500 RDS Unit found in late model fiesta's does not need to be removed from the vehicle to obtain the serial number, simply turn on the radio then hold down button 6 and tap button 2. The serial number will be shown on the display

Further information on decoding your Ford car radio.

Using our Ford radio decoding system, you are not only saving money, but also time and the hassle which is involved. Most vehicle main dealers require you to book in your vehicle and take the car and proof of ownership along before they apply for your radio code.
Usually the code will be based on the vehicle registration or Chassis number which can mean you are not getting the code for the current unit fitted to the car, especially if the radio has been replaced at any stage in its lifetime.

There are a number of reasons why a radio code based on your vehicles chassis number or registration may not work, these include:

At Radio-Code, we provide radio codes based on the unique serial number of your car radio, regardless of what it was fitted to originally.  Our radio codes have proven to be more accurate than main dealer's because of this.

To whom it may concern - Just want to thank you for obtaining me the code for my Citroen. After speaking to one of your advisors, I was also provided alternative codes for my radio, as I could not read the last digit properly. I provided the original request from the SN and with this I was unable to input my code, so after checking again with the serial number, I was then prompted with an alternative code. After waiting for the radio to re-set itself, I was then able to have another go of inputting the alternative code. From this, I am now able to listen to my music in the car. Thanks a lot SWS for the understanding of lost codes for us car users around the UK Regards Jay.. Jay.
