How to Decode your Car Radio

Ford Serial Number's

Ford car radios will normally contain a 7 digit serial number which can be found either printed on a label or engraved on the side of the unit.

These serials are only visible once the Ford radio has been removed from the vehicle.

do not take the serial from a user guide Never take the serial number from any printed paperwork or user guides, since this may not match the actual Ford radio fitted to the car. Instead, take the serial number from either a label or an engraving on the top or side of your Ford stereo, to ensure the supplied Ford radio code is accurate.

Note: The Ford 4500 RDS Unit found in late model fiesta's does not need to be removed from the vehicle to obtain the serial number, simply turn on the radio then hold down button 6 and tap button 2. The serial number will be shown on the display
