do not take the serial from a user guideNever take the serial number from any printed paperwork or user guides, since this may not match the actual BMW radio fitted to the car.  Instead, take the serial number from either a label or an engraving on the top or side of your BMW stereo, to ensure the supplied BMW radio code is accurate.

Further information on decoding your BMW car radio.

Using our BMW stereo decoding system, you are not only saving money, but also time and the hassle which is involved. Most vehicle main dealers require you to book in your vehicle and take the car and proof of ownership along before they apply for the radio code.
Usually the code will be based on your vehicle registration or Chassis number which can mean you are not getting the code for the current unit fitted to the car, especially if the radio has been replaced at any stage in its lifetime.

There are a number of reasons why a radio code based on the vehicles chassis number or registration may not work, these include:

At Radio-Code, we provide stereo codes based on the unique serial number of the car radio, regardless of what it was fitted to originally.  Our stereo codes have proven to be more accurate than main dealer's because of this.

thanks excellent service.. joe laverick

I've just ordered the code for my Rover 45's Radio, and it's worked first time as advertised. Once I had the serial number etc it literally took seconds for the code to appear on screen, it took far longer for me to walk out to the car, enter the code and make sure it was working! Thanks for a great service - if I ever need another code, this will be my first port of call! . Rob Wier

Ok I left the radio until today and put your code in and it worked great. Thank you for your prompt email and I will recommend your web site to all my mate's. Many Thanks.

Steve, Just a quick note to say thank you for all of your help yesterday. You demonstrated that there are still people out there who actually know what they are talking about, and aren't just a set of 'Blaggers'. I should be sending the unit away in the next couple of days if all goes well. . Steven Hay
